I know what they're going for when they do these scenes...seen it here, Spider-Man, and elsewhere...but it makes no sense in DC and Marvel comics that anyone would pull the "I must be seeing things" routine in a world where super heroes, space invasions, subterranean monsters, etc., must be a near-daily occurrence and constantly on the news.
I agree Matt, and that's at least part of the reason I dislike "movie" costumes. Most of the recent superhero films shy away from the comic costume for a "more grounded, real world look"...but to your point, in the source material (the comics) the more colorful costumes ARE the "real world"! I just don't get it...
